FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
This week the U.S. House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on H.R. 24, the Federal Reserve Transparency Act, sponsored by Rep. Paul Broun (R-GA). The bill, commonly referred to as Audit the Fed, aims to shine light on the mysterious and controversial banking institution.
“The Federal Reserve is unconstitutional, enables the growth of big government and destroys the financial well being of ordinary Americans,” George Brikho, Republican nominee for Congress in Michigan’s 9th District, said. “It also allows for the government to fund its destructive foreign policy of endless war. The Fed must be stopped, and transparency is the first step toward that.”
Brikho’s position is a stark contrast to the man he is attempting to unseat. His opponent, 16 term Congressman Sander Levin, has voted consistently with the big banks and the powerful bureaucrats opposing Fed transparency.
“My opponent Sander Levin represents what is wrong with our government,” Brikho said. “He will vote in favor of big money every time. We need a representative who will stand for the people, rather than the fatcats in corporate America.”
After a partial Fed audit revealed a whopping $16 trillion dollar secret bailout with much of it going to foreign banks, there has been an added impetus to bring accountability to the monetary authority. It has not been easy though, as lobbyists have done everything in their power to kill and water down Audit the Fed bills for many years.
“It is wrong that the people are not permitted to know what is happening with their government,” Brikho said. “And if I am elected as Congressman, I will not stand for it.”
Federal Reserve transparency cannot be stopped if the public makes its voice be heard. That is the only way the Federal Reserve and other Washington D.C. bureaucracies will stop playing fast and loose with taxpayer money. We the People must refuse to accept excuses for government secrecy, and demand that our representatives vote the right way.
Contact Congressman Levin’s office in Washington at 202-225-4961 and his office in Roseville at 586-498-7122 to demand a “YES” vote on H.R. 24, the Federal Reserve Transparency Act. Urge Sander Levin to stop carrying water for Wall Street and vote “YES” on H.R. 24 to protect the economic stability of the middle class.
