George Brikho (9th District) Participates in Memorial Day Parade to Commemorate America’s Fallen Soldiers
St. Clair Shores, MI. May 25, 2014. Republican constitutionalist George Brikho honored our country’s fallen military men and women this year in St. Clair Shore’s 62nd Annual Memorial Day Parade, ‘Michigan’s Largest and Best Memorial Day Parade’ according to their slogan. This year’s theme was “Honor, Freedom and Family”.
The parade began at 9 a.m. on Harper Avenue and ran from Little Mack to 11 Mile Road. Following the parade were family friendly events and activities, including a 5K charity run. Brikho and his supporters, his family and friends all joined on the 25th.to commemorate our fallen military men and women. Brikho was pleased with the large turn-out, including supporters of all ages.
Brikho reminds us that “this special day is a federal holiday in dedication to the men and women who gave their lives defending our country,” and that it “originated after the Civil War under the name of Decoration Day and included parades even then”.
Brikho spoke to his friends, families and fellow Americans about how he and his campaign staff focus on the needs of the American people. He explained how he is in full support of our country’s amendments and aims to protect the citizens from spurious efforts from the opposition. It’s true, maintaining a comfortable lifestyle is difficult for the middle class citizen however, Brikho, a fellow middle class American and small business owner understands that the cost of living has increased and the “quality of our nation has decreased”. He explained that the current American struggles are also his struggles and aims to “even the playing field” for all United States citizens.
